Knight Inlet, Wilderness and Wildlife Excursions

The Kak Wei Ken River flows into Thompson Sound which is right next to Knight Inlet, famous for it's grizzly bears, on the British Columbia mainland about 300 miles from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. From Campbell River on Vancouver Island, a 45 minute floatplane ride will put you right in the middle of nature.

Your main guide is Trapper Rick
The trip is worth coming just to meet him and hear his stories and the unique way he tells them. He's been a part of the Kak Wei Ken River for the past 13 years. His enthusiasm for the river is incomparable to anyone. This is a family friendly experience so bring the kids; they'll never forget this adventure! Maximum 6 people.

Four Days, 3 Nights Eco Tour:                                                   $3500 CDN per person
Stay for four days where you can relax and enjoy the alpine mountains, the cascading waterfalls and the wildlife: bears, cougars, mountain goats and who knows what else you can spot?
Fly in from Campbell River on your first day, settle in and get ready.
Our eco tours and camera safaris are a real wildlife adventure. They are geared to meet different levels of physical fitness. We have a number of viewing stations where our grizzlies frequent, which gives us amply opportunity for photographing bears in their natural environment in a safe and non intrusive manner. We will keep an eye open for signs (tracks and scat) of wolves and mountain lions as we work our way along the river valley, keeping our cameras ready for those shots of a lifetime. Eagles arrive in large numbers to feed on the salmon and to do their part in creating the feeling of absolute awe in this wilderness environment.
You will stay at the trapper's cabin right on the river over looking a waterfall, with a view that will install the power and beauty of Mother Nature at her best. You will enjoy great meals of fresh crab and prawns caught right off the dock and salmon done in the traditional native manner. Travis plans the meals and is a serious gourmet cook (any special diet requirements please let us know). You will enjoy the peace of the campfire in the evenings and the beauty of your surroundings as the creatures of the forest pass by the cabin feeding on wild salmon. There are opportunities for pictures of bears, wolves, eagles, otters, and all kinds’ birds of all right from the porch. It is our goal to connect our guests with the spiritual feeling one derives from the power and the beauty of the wilderness. Come join us in this quiet reality where Mother Nature will refresh your spirit.

Includes travel from/to Campbell River, all meals, and four days with three nights lodging, a guide, and transportation to and from your sight seeing adventures.
Pack your camera with DOUBLE the amount of film. You will use it all! Book early.
